Position: Head Coach – Summer Swim Team

About the Team
Our small summer swim team includes athletes from 8 & Under through 15–18. The team competes in five dual meets and league championships.
Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Head Coach to lead our competitive summer program. Prior head coaching experience is preferred but not required; strong assistant coaching experience, a commitment to swimmer development, and leadership qualities are equally valued.
The Head Coach will plan and run daily practices (afternoons while school is in session, transitioning to mornings once school is out), coach at all meets, and help foster a supportive and growth-oriented environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and swimmer development in and out of the water.
· Create meet lineups (using Hy-Tek) and submit results to TriCounty.
· Develop and lead age-appropriate, engaging daily practice plans for all age groups (8U to 15–18).
· Coach all dual meets and league championships.
· Provide regular stroke instruction, race strategy, and individual feedback.
· Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating team culture.
· Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, assistant coaches, and club leadership.
· Assist with organizing team events, spirit activities, and end-of-season celebrations.

· Strong organizational and leadership skills
· Knowledge of stroke mechanics, dryland exercises, and meet preparation
· CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain before season)
· Lifeguard certification preferred but not required
Schedule (Day after Memorial Day – First full weekend in August)
· Weekday practices:
○Afternoons (typically 3:30-7:30pm) until the school year ends
○Mornings (typically 7:30-11:30am) once school is out
· ‘A’ Meets occur on Saturday mornings
Compensation
Salary will be discussed with applicants during the application and interview process and is commensurate with experience.
